Traffic Skills 101

The Traffic Skills 101 class at the Cycling Center of Dallas is designed to teach basic cycling skills to riders of all ages and abilities. The agenda is nothing less than empowering cyclists with the ability to ride effectively and with confidence in an urban environment. The Traffic Skills 101 classes are held on the fourth Sunday afternoon of each month, and led by instructors certified by the League of American Bicyclists.

In conjunction with Bike DFW, a regional non-profit organization, the Urban Cycling class will teach riders basic to advanced skills, such as:

  • Proper Signaling
  • Riding in traffic
  • Avoiding obstacles
  • Quick Stops
  • Rapid turns
  • Basic preventive maintenance
  • Defensive cycling
  • Planning a trip
  • Riding in groups
  • Proper bike setup
